For our first Tech Tip, it might be a little broad, but it is an important one. When planning for technology integration, there can never be too many people involved. Do not try to implement new technology with only consulting one or two people. Bring your administration into the picture, your skills specialist, other teachers and anyone else on your campus or in the district who can help. This will give many different view points into how the new technology can be integrated and everyone will be on the same page. When administration comes in, they are not confused as to what you are doing and will not need to ask several questions. If they are informed about what you are doing, they can also offer suggestions on how to best integrate into your lessons. We have an administration strand at TCCA for this reason. We know administrators can play a large role in technology integration, so we want them to be knowledgeable about the tools available to them. If your administration has not seen the importance of technology, encourage them to come to TCCA this year and sit in on a couple of the Admin strand sessions and learn more about how they can assist teachers in the classroom.
